Paper filters keep the dregs out of your coffee, but they also rob your cup of some of the most subtle flavors and qualities. The Able Disk filter replaces the paper filters required for brewing coffee with the Aeropress. The thin stainless steel filter does the job of keeping the grinds out without soaking up all the flavorful oils.
PICK YOUR BREW STRENGTH
The Disk is available in two thicknesses. The standard thickness delivers a fuller cup of coffee, if you’re willing to put up with some fines in the brew. It’s thicker, sturdier and difficult to damage. The Fine Disk is only about 1/3 the thickness of the standard disk, and delivers a very clean cup with almost no fines at all.
Able Brewing Equipment grew out of a moment of frustration familiar to most filter coffee lovers: the moment you reach for a coffee filter and find nothing but an empty box. When it happens to most people, they improvise. When it happened to Keith Gehrke, he created the Kone coffee filter, a state-of-the-coffee-art permanent steel filter that was originally designed to fit Keith's favorite coffee brewer, the Chemex. Three versions and 40 prototypes later, the Kone is a favorite of coffee professionals and enthusiasts alike and Able Brewing Equipment has added other fine coffee brewing equipment to its line. Started by coffee professionals, Able aims to make approachable, reusable and sustainable coffee brewing equipment that produces exceptional coffee. The attention to detail in design is evident in every cup of coffee, whether it's brewed in a Chemex, for which the Kone was designed, or in the Aeropress, for which Able offers its Disk coffee filters. In keeping with Able's belief that sustainability includes being aware and considerate of the local economy as well as the environment, all Able Brewing Equipment is made using labor and materials that are 100% sourced in the United States. The company is currently working with local artisans to create its newest offering, a meticulously designed porcelain Kone brewing system created specifically to work with the Kone filter. In addition to its own products, Able Brewing Equipment also offers a selection of carefully chosen and thoroughly tested coffee brewing products from other respected manufacturers.
